A visit to this shop is an experience in mankind's embellishments concerning clothing ornamentation and jewelry adornment. The selection of beads is a potpourri of shapes, sizes and colors from all over the world. They are made of glass, Austrian crystal, wood, precious and non-precious metal, shell, gemstone, bone, cinnabar and amber from ancient to modern manufacture. Rhinestones, sequins, metal studs and appliques can be found here too.
There is everything here a jewelry designer (professional or beginner) needs: stringing materials, instruction books, findings and a helpful staff that will assist with just about any project. Jewelry can be constructed at the "make it and take it" table or can be left to be completed. For the professional designer, there are quantity discounts. The store offers custom jewelry repair and classes on beaded clothing and beaded earring techniques. The mail order catalog is available for $2.50.
The store's bead museum and gallery features exhibits from private collections, as well as from fine artists including shop owner Therese Spears, who 27 years ago began stringing beads-and never stopped. Therese is a nationally known author and expert.
